Navigation, search, and help

The left sidebar is the main navigation. Its header holds the workspace switcher, a configurable plus button, Home, and Notifications.

  • On the dashboard the sections are Platform (Contacts, Equipment), Projects (Starred, Archived), and Documents (Whiteboards, Documents, Diagrams, Beat Boards, Slides).
  • Inside a project the section is headed by the project name and lists Project Overview, Script, Documents, Shot List, Cast and Crew, Gear, Schedule, Callsheets, and Project Settings. Pinned documents appear in a Pinned section.
  • The footer has Shortcuts (opens the keyboard shortcuts dialog) and Get Help (opens the Assistant).
  • Collapse or expand the sidebar with the toggle at the far left of the top bar.
  • Pages you have no access to as a collaborator appear greyed out with a lock.
  1. Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Customize sidebar.
  2. Drag rows to reorder them, click the eye icon to hide or show a row, and use Quick action ( + ) to choose what the plus button does: Quick Idea, Quick To-do, New Project, New Folder, or a new document type (New Whiteboard, New Diagram, New Beat Board, New Document, New Slides).
  3. Click Done.

Project Settings is fixed and cannot be hidden or moved. Your arrangement is saved to your account.

The top bar holds the sidebar toggle, page specific controls on the left, the search field in the center, and, in a project, the collaborator avatars, the Share button, and the page’s primary action on the right.

Open search by clicking the center field or pressing Cmd K (Ctrl K).

  • In a project the placeholder reads “Shots, scenes, script, gear, people, callsheets, reports, finance…”. Scope pills narrow results: All, Shot list, Script, Gear, People, Callsheets. Before you type, the palette shows Recent searches, Switch project, and Quick actions (one “Open” row per project page).
  • On the dashboard the placeholder reads “Search projects, documents, contacts…” and the palette offers Create actions, Go to shortcuts, Recent projects, and Recent documents. Results group into Projects, Documents, and Contacts.
  • Press Enter to open a result, Cmd Enter to open it in a new tab, Esc to close. Use Clear recent searches to reset the Recent list.

Projects with collaborators have a team chat. Open it with Alt M or the chat button next to the search pill. Type into “Message your team…” and click Send.

Click Notifications in the sidebar header. The panel shows all notifications with a filter (All, Updates, Collaboration, Invites, Todos) and a List or Detailed table view.

  • Click a notification to mark it read; Mark all read clears everything; the trash icon deletes one.
  • Invite notifications have inline Accept and Decline buttons.
  • The Todos filter shows your personal tasks; tick the checkbox to complete one. Create todos from the sidebar plus button (Quick To-do) or the dashboard To-Do widget.

Click Shortcuts in the sidebar footer to open the Keyboard shortcuts dialog, grouped by area (General, Command Palette, Editing, Shot List, Cast and Crew, Gear, Call Sheets, Project Overview, Dashboard, Script Editor, Whiteboard).

Click Get Help in the sidebar footer to open the Assistant panel.

  • Ask a question in “Ask about CineFlow…”, or pick a suggested question.
  • Open docs opens the documentation site.
  • Contact support opens the Support dialog: choose a Reason (Bug Report, Feature Request, Billing, General Inquiry), write a Message, and click Submit Ticket.

The Contacts and Equipment sidebar rows lead to the Utilities area, which also has a hub page listing Contact list, Equipment Packages, and Branding. See Contacts, Gear, and Workspace branding.

Click your avatar in the sidebar for the theme controls: Light, Dark, or System, and the palette variant CineFlow Cold or CineFlow Warm. The same options live in Settings then Personalisation.

CineFlow shows a mobile layout on phones. The dashboard bottom bar has Home, Contacts, Equipment, Starred, and Archived. In a project the bottom bar shows Home, Overview, Shot List, Gear, People, and Callsheets, with Script, Documents, Schedule, and Project Settings in the More menu. Search, chat, page actions, and your profile live in round buttons in the top bar.
