Import a brief

Turn a written brief into a fully set up project.

  1. Save your brief as a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, or image file (up to about 3.5 MB).
  2. On the desktop dashboard, drag the file onto the dashed New Project card. Its label changes to Drop to create from brief. Release the file.
  3. You are taken to the new project while a banner reads “Setting up your project from your brief.” This usually takes under a minute.
  4. When the banner clears and the “Your project is ready.” toast appears, review what was created: project details, scenes and shots on the Shot List, people under Cast and Crew, equipment under Gear, shoot days on the Schedule, and callsheets. The original brief is saved on the Documents page.

Everything imported is a normal CineFlow object you can edit or delete.

Tips:

  • Make sure the dashboard shows the workspace you want the project in; the import targets your current workspace.
  • If the file is rejected as too large, compress its images or export it as a PDF and retry.
  • If the import fails, the placeholder project is removed automatically and you can simply drop the file again.

See the Brief import guide for details on what gets extracted.
