Build a shot list

  1. Open your project and click Shot List in the sidebar.
  2. Click Add Scene. In Add a scene, set the Scene name, Setting (INT, EXT, INT/EXT), Time of day, and optionally the page count, story day, and location. Click Add scene.
  3. In the scene, click the Add shot row. A shot is created with an automatic shot ID.
  4. Fill in the cells: Description, Type, Angle, Move, Camera, Lens, and so on. Pick from the suggestions or type your own values.
  5. Link cast in the Cast cell: search, tick existing cast, or add a new character on the spot.
  6. Attach a storyboard frame in the Image cell: upload an image or draw one.
  7. Track progress by clicking the Status ring on each shot (in progress, completed).

Working from a script instead? Write or import the screenplay on the Script page, select a line, and use Create Shot from selection; use From Script to generate scenes from your scene headings first. See the Script guide.

Useful along the way:

  • Filter and switch layout in the Display popover; manage columns in the Columns popover.
  • Pick the Shot ID Style (USA, Europe, UK) in the Display popover.
  • Save a snapshot before big changes: Display, Versions, Save current version.
